Hi All I havce a 1999 340 and the gas solenoid valve coil is overheating the result is the gas flow is much reduced ( now almost useless) Questions 01 Is this a common fault? 02 The coil detaches by one circlip from the body of the valve , if I replace this coil will it solve the problem? or does the whole valve need to be changes ? 03 I am in UK does anyone know where I can get this part over here? 04 The coil id a Parker hannafin item Thanks in advance John

we had to replace ours too

We had the same problem on our 356 after about 2 years in service. I ordered the whole solenoid, including the coil, replaced it and it works fine. Found that the unit as was installed by Hunter was "hard wired" so I added a bus bar to facilitate replacement next time.

Replaced ours, too

Also have a 99 H340 and the LP gas solenoid failed last summer. Symptoms were that the stove would light but gas flow decreased to nothing after a few minutes. Your description of "overheating" makes sense. I found an exact OEM replacement for the whole unit at one of the online boat parts sites (Sailnet?) Ed
