Does anyone out there keep track of hours per gallon ? I've had the 37.5 for 3 full seasons now, have recorded about 350 hours, and have averaged apprx 1.5 hours per gallon. How does this compare ?? Of cource its hard to keep track, since Hunter was to cheap to install either a hour meter, or an electronic fuel indicator on my 37.5

Actually, if my math is right.....

Guzzler burns more than you are. You are reporting hours per gallon (1.5 hours to burn a gallon) which converts to .66g per hour or .33 g for every .5 hours. Guzzler says he is using .75g per hour. Point is you're in the ballpark . We can't really compare since we don't know what RPM's , loads, bottom/prop condition, etc. Besides, what's a few ounces per hour when we spend thousands and thousands on the boat itself.....

MGH

We just completed a 6 day trip where we motored for just over 40 hours and 200 miles. We used 11 gallons of fuel. We did this on a C-36 with a Universel M25 running at a reduced RPM of only 1800 RPM which gave us about 5 knotts. The engine ran hot at higher RPM, so we kept it at 1800. Bob C-36

.5 gph

On my 3HM35F ('88 Legend 37) I use .5 gph under all conditions. I keep a close log of my engine hours and use this to calculate my needs.

Estimate .5 gph !!

Don, We estimate that we burn about .5 gph based on hours under power and gallons to refill the tank. We run our 1994 37.5 (Yanmar 3JH2E) at about 2600 rpms (70% of max rated rpms). Sounds like you're in the ballpark!
