Gas and Pitch angle synchronization

Hi Akif

The sync can be done with your Vega in the water quite easily.

1. Turn the engine on an see if prop wash is coming out of the back of the boat or out of the starboard side amidships. This will tell you where the pitch of the prop is. When there is no wash, back or amidships then you have the blades in the neutral position. Adjust this point for low revs and that is it..... A basic way but this will work good enough.

Hello, Akif:
You did not say just what was done to the Combi system when the bottom was
being painted.
If your propeller was not taken apart, and all was synchronized before the
shaft was removed, you should be able to put it all in order with the boat in
the water. Steve has shown a great idea. In addition to what he said, you
also have the ability to adjust the throttle position on the st'bd side of
the gear box, with the cam operated link. Its position can be shifted with
the nut on the cone-shaped shaft to change its position relative to the
entire system.
Another consideration is, if only the prop was removed, and none of the
internals of the gear box or control mechanism was changed, then your
adjustments now, as suggested by Steve, will be only temporary. This would
indicate that the prop was reassembled a little out-of-sync. When next your
boat is high-and-dry, wou will want to return these adjustments to their
original position, take the prop apart, and "re-zero" it with the rack in the
middle of the two pinions with the throttle in the neutral position.
It may sound like a lot of gobble-de-gook, but I do hope this helps. If
you do not understand it, and you have a parts list with part numbers, I, or
others of this group, may be able to help you further.
