I have a Garmin III GPS and am trying to get the information to the Raytheon 4000+ autopilot. I have the Garmin NMEA/power cable and have it hooked up accourding to Raytheon, red to 12v, blk to NMEA and power ground and brown to the pilot NMEA +. But the autopilot gets no data. Do I have to send somthing from the GPS or somthing? Any ideas? Thanks Bob

Setup interface

Bob, You should me able to go into the menu(of gps) and turn on the NMEA 183 that should do it. Your 4000+ will act as a repeater if you want it to also. I had a Garmin 75 hooked to a 4000 and it worked fine & now have a 4000+ w/ gar 230 and it works fine. So I believe the default setting is off, and all u need to do is turn it on..write if I can be of any more help.. Mike mosilver@netnitco.net

it worked

I just change the setting from Garmin, which it needs to talk to my laptop, and changed it to NMEA and my pilot sees it just fine. Thanks. Bob
