Friend has purchased a garmin GPS Map76s. Aoording to the map it is giving the right location, the lat and long however, are about 60 miles out. Thoughts anyone. The GOPS is pulling in 12 sattelites fine.
Colin:Be sure that the GPS has the most recent program fixes. This is somewhat common that there can be glitches. If you go to the Garmin site, you will see and area to download any program fixes that they have found. You can also call them for technical support.
If the GPSMap 76 is stored for any length of time without batteries, the date will show incorrectly, and the rest of the data are suspect as well. The remedy outlined in the manual didn't work for me. The website has a procedure for correcting this, if the menu directions don't work.
