I have searched archives.

The Garmin 76csx GPS in NMEA connected to the Simrad TP22 in the fashion vaguely described in the Simrad literature. The Garmin is set to output NMEA.

The system works great when it works. It'll mow down the red harbor entrance buoy of my home port if I let it. However, for no obvious reason and without any difference in setup, connection or circumstances, 20% of the time the tiller pilot wont link up. It just beeps at me in complaint. On rarer occasions, the system will work fine for awhile and then the TP22 suddenly starts beeping and complaining.

I've checked all wiring. The problem has been the same since installed new.

Simrad support is completely unresponsive. My numerous emails were utterly ignored, until I finally told them thanks for the unprofessional conduct, it helps in making future decisions regarding marine electronics purchases.

Does anyone have this same equipment pair and if so what is your experience and advice?

Thanks

I'm the only one who has this equipment combination?

Does anyone even have something similar(Garmin\Simrad), with similar issues?

I use a Garmin 76cs connected to a RayMarine ST4000 MKII+ and my Uniden 525 DSC VHF. I used the NMEA out wire of the garmin and the ground to connect to the Autopilot & Radiio simultaneously. Both are conected to the same garmin output wires.

Just FYI, the NMEA 0183 standard supports FOUR listeners to a single NMEA output. So, handling the Autopilot and Radio is well within spec. :)
