I have a 1985 Hunter 23. I need to put on a vang. I was interested if anyone has put on the Garhauer Ridgid vang? Worth the cost? Practiability for crusing verse racing? Thanks

I put one on my 98 H240. I race and crusie. Had it a couple seasons now. Best upgrade to boat. Worth the cost just to get rid of the topping lift. Highly recomend it. Sean Coerse 1998 H240 "Right Coerse"

There are many upsides

I have one on my 260 and as a previous respondent has already said, it is the best upgrade that I have added. There is one downside - it makes taking down and putting up the mast a bit more difficult.

Taking Down

I attached my vang to the mast with a piece of sailtrack. I leave the vang attached to the boom and simply slide it off the sailtrack on the mast. When you order let them know you trailer and they will give you the track instead of the bracket for the mast.
