just purchased a 1982 sabre 30. she has the standard 30a single shore power inlet. no isolator. i do plan on installing one. however i plan on maybe installing aircon in the boat next season and would put in a second dedicated 30a inlet to handle that load. question is , do i need a separate isolator for that leg? or can i install one isolator for the two inlets and just find one thats rated for 60a total? or is only one isolator all that is needed at all?

Isolators come in 30a and 50a sizes. I've never seen a 60a one.

You will need to install one for each line.

thanks, so running both legs through one unit will provide the necessary coverage? also , if i install the 60a now with one leg only, will there be a detrimental effect being 60a on a 30a leg? i maybe thinking of these in regards to a circuit breaker type of protection which may be wrong. so i would be looking a 2 x 30a isolators then based on previous reply?

You should ask @Maine Sail to be sure or others electrical experts here.

But there 2 gold plated terminals. One for Each 30 Amp service.
[Corrected after reading the manual]

I don't have my manual to make sure.
