I am new here so I may be bringing up an old topic. The slide out galley is almost complete in my newly purchased 1984 Cat 22. However corroded from non- or never used. Does anyone use these and is it worth restoring?
I'd guess that most find a good place in the garage. There heavy and take up valuable space. I've only known of one owner that really liked the galley. My advice would be try it, if you don't like it remove it. My boat never came with one, (PO had already removed and sold it) Good luck with your boat.
I threw my galley out 5 years ago and never miss it.1973 Hull 2226.We use a simple camp stove, camp mess gear, 10 gallon water jug, and plastic or paper eating ware.Campy
The galley in Sylvan gets used any time we're out for a while. We replaced a rusty butane stove with a stainless steel Orioco alcohol and like it. Nice for brewing coffee or making light breakfasts and dinners. When racing, the galley is better off ashore. RK
