I'm in the process of purchasing a Capri 18, it doesn't have the galley unit or porta potty. Can someone email a picture of the galley, and where does it fit and give the general demensions so I can build one. Also what size potty will fit? I'm sure I can get one from Wal-Mart or West Marine. I had a Hunter 23 which I installed shore power

Galley unit

I actually had them take the unit out of my C-18 before I took delivery (new). I just couldn't see it as being very useful, and it took up a lot of storage area. We do all of our cooking on the BBQ mounted on the rail. I'm not sure, but the dealer might still have it sitting around. Let me know and I'll get you his number.

Galley Capri 18

Dave_M, If you would give me the name and phone number of the dealer that might still have the galley from your boat, I'd appreciate. I'm looking for a trailer for a Capri 18, do you know of any available? How do you like your Capri 18? Thanks, Rick

We love our C-18, and we downsized to it also...

We have sailed more and spent more nights out than ever before, mostly because its just so easy to go, we will go out for a couple of hours if that's what we have. No idea on trailer, but ask this same dealer. Everyone here gets a trailer for winter storage (or year round, since most of us keep the boat rigged on the trailer in mast up storage). Lots of C-18's of all vintages around Colorado, and everyone loves them. There are even a couple of places using them for rentals, and they stand up to that abuse amazingly well. Local dealer (only one for hundreds of miles) is great, and sells a bunch of these boats. The Anchorage 303 823-6601 ask for Steve, and tell them Dave who is really "John the Elder" referred you (inside joke). Good people, they'll help you out. Also, you ask about a bimini - I've only seen one in a picture. Check out the C-18 association site (you can link off here), and look at pictures. I think that's where I saw it.

Dave_M, I talked to Steve yesterday (Friday) he has two boats that I'm interested in. Thanks for the tip. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks very much, Rick

Porta-Potti

Rick: My C18 has a Thetford Porta-Potti 735 installed in the forward cabin *nook* intended for it. It only sees light-duty use, but it has worked fine for the past five years. There is a hold-down latch for it screwed to the cabin floor. As for the galley unit, it seems like a waste of space (and money?). We do fine with the ice chest, a few plastic boxes for food and utensil items, and we also have a propane Magma grill/stove with a rail mount. On the trailer: it seems like there are more C-18s without trailers for sale than C-18 trailers for sale. I'd sell you my TrailRite C-18 trailer, but I live in Calif. I'd really like to get a custom aluminum trailer for my C-18. For a VHF: I just use a hand-held VHF radio. The fishfinder/depthfinder is the most useful electronic device on my boat.
