I have a 1993 Hunter 33.5 and the sole in the galley is spongy in front of the ice box nearest the companion way. There is a non skiid type rubber matt glued to the sole and it is under this matt where the spongyness (SP) is. Any Ideas or experience what may be going on here.

If I need to rip up that non skid type matt soes nayone know where to get more of the same, it came with the boat.

Mine too.....

I have the same model and same year. We have and AB frig system which I leave on most of the season. I get some pooling of water in front of the frig but only when the boat is closed up for the week. I assume it's condinsation from a poorly insulated box. The floor is springy as you discribe. I will attempt to better insulate this year. I wonder if we could peal the rubber non-skid back drill a couple of small holes and fill some of that area below the floor with expanding foam and then re-glue the non-skid back down. I know you need to be careful with that stuff. Don't want to overfill or dam up an area that prevents the sub-bilge from draining properly.

I bought my boat last summer, have not had it a year yet. When we use the ice chest we use dry ice so no water. Possibly the guy who owned thek boat before me used frozen water in the ice chest and that may be the problem with the spongy floor. I am going to lift that rubber non skid mat and see what is going on there. I have some delamination on the deck which I wil be fixing with GIT-ROT. I may use someof that to firm up the sole. Provided it won't restrict water drainage to the bilge.
