The galley sink needs replacing becasue it has been pitted through by a corrosive chemical. It is an underslung double stainless steel sink that requires removal of the counter. Are there any hints on how to remove the counter? Another option is to use a top mounted sink but I have not found one that would fit. Thanks, Jon Paine Oceanus III

Galley sinks

When I first purchased my 83 Catalina 30TR one of the double sinks was pitted and leaked slightly. The first season I bought the two part plumbers epoxy in Home Depot. It's greeen and gray and comes in a single plastic tube. You break a piece off and rub the two parts until the colors combine and I applied to the sinks underside. It worked fine. The next season I replaced both sinks and if I recall I bought them from Catalina Direct. Mine are surface mounted. If yours are mounted from below as you say maybe Catalina Direct could offer a suggestion in the counter removal. If not try the epoxy. John

I think the 34 and 36 are similiar construction. Do a search on the message board at www.c34.org I know it has been discussed. Not sure if guests have access to the projects page, might be there also
