I am new to the pearson 26 and would like to know, does the sink on the boat drain anywhere? mine goes right into the storage locker into the bilge but it doesnt seem right to me. Is there an easy way to drain the water storage tank for winter?

Sink shouldn't drain into the bilge

The drain should be connected to a thru-hull. There should be a seacock on the thru-hull. As for draining the water tank, just turn on all the faucets and let 'em run till the tank is empty...AFTER you've connected the sink drain to the thru-hull.

P-26 sink drain

Drew, My 26 had a drain hose from the sink leading under the v-berth near the fresh water tank. There was a collapsable 2 gallon plastic container, the type you can carry water in, that the hose attached to collect the sink water. I had to empty it every couple of weeks. Worked well for me. Bob

Sink drains into the cockpit self bailer thruhull

Hi- I just had to fix the sink on my newly acquired P26 (1971, hull # 229). The sink on mine drains into the cockpit selfbailing connection which is located just in back of the bulkhead next to the sink. It is accessed via the port sail locker. The water pipe comes up along side it and so I was going to try to disconnect the plastic hose on the thru hull and run the water pipe down thru it to drain the water tank which I also need to do. Water tastes like a gallon of bleach was dumped in there. THere is no seacock on either of my thru hulls that drain the cockpit by the way.

sink, drain

My p-30 sink, drains into the bilge, with a removable cap on a plastic hose, it works well for me after a weekend of ice melted I release the cap and it flows into the bilge where I have installed a small electric pump, this also helps flush the bilge wit some cleaner water. Replaced water tank with a flexable 30 gal, I drain that with a foot pump then remove the bag for the winter, allowing me to flush it a few times with the hose, we don't use this water for drinking but use it for washing only. good luck Terry

P26 sink drain

my P26 sink drains to a wire reinforced rubber 1.25" hose it connects via a plastic tee and is secured with ss hose clamps. this hose line drains the port side of the self bailing cockpit. this works well, I have had the boat heel up to 35 degrees and water has never come back up thru the drain
