I was replacing the hose that leads from the galley sink to the thru hull valve directly under the sink for sink drainage. The size of the hose under the sink is 1 1/2 inch (the one that attaches to the sink drain fitting). The thru hull nipple is somewhere between 1 1/2 and 1 1/4 because a 1 1/4 size hose will not fit on the thru hull but the 1 1/2 hose is too big. I tried using a heat gun on the 1 1/2 hose before clamping it on the thru hull but it leaks. I am at a loss and can't seem to find the hose on the Beneteau parts website. Has anyone replaced this hose? Did you have the same problem? What did you do about it? Thanks.

I had a similar problem in my idylle 51.5. I used a piece of thin wall 1 1/2 hose the length of the nipple and cut a piece off length wise. One hose over the other and two clamps. No leaks 6 years after.

Thanks Cayennita, that is such a simple solution but if you hadn't mentioned it, I probably would never have thought of it.

On my fairly new B323 I wanted to move the sink drain so I could put shelves under the sink. I, too, found the hose was not the right size for the thru-hull hose barb and the size difference was just filled with sealant- same as on the water deck fill-to-hose connection. The longer replacement hose fit the sink, but not the barb. I got a new barb to fit on the elbow that was on the thru-hull. Problem solved.

My galley drain was leaking as well. Get yourself some Electrical Splicing Tape to wrap the fittings on each end before slipping the original hose back on. Use to fill gap between drain hose size and fittings and then clamp. Gap from drain plumbing was a little bigger than thru hull. Applying heat to plastic drain hose will still help to get things in place. Been water tight ever since.
