Hello,I guess you are are looking at older boats, pre 86 or so? Anyway, on my C22, a 1981, the galley was the sliding model with a two burner alcohol stove, sink with 5 gallon water tank, small ice box, and drawer. The entire affair slides and stores under the starboard cockpit settee. When the galley is stored there are cushions in the cabin settee. To use the galley you move the cushion and slide the galley into the cabin. The sink drains into a bowl molded into the boat. You can remove the galley by just lifting it out of the boat. It's heavy, probably about 75 lbs. The first year we had the boat the galley was on board but we never used it. The second year I took it out and stored it in the basement. I replaced it with a large storage box that got much more use than the galley.Regarding storage under the cockpit seats: If you move the port side, rear dinette seat you can access the storage under cockpit. In fact, I once locked my keys in the boat, and I had to climb down into the cockpit lazarette then wiggle forward, climb into the cabin, get my keys, then climb back out too!My understanding is that the cabin layout in the 86+ boats is different.Barry
