Both my galley and head sinks drain very slowly and I don't even really know where they drain to. Can anyone point me in the right direction to troubleshoot this problem? Thanks

I can't really help you with your question directly but can pass on a great trick that we have used on two boats with great success. We avoid having anything slow our drains down by installing (probably yearly due to eventual rusting) stainless mesh stainers. They really work well and compared to friends who do not use them and get little bits of salsa, paper etc in their drains and then wonder why they are so slow draining, we are always good to go! We also put them in the aft cockpit drains with great success also.

Look under the sinks, find the hose, follow the hose to the thru hulls. That's where they go.

don't know how long you've been boating, but I would think just knowing the location of all thru-hulls and their function would be the first thing one would want to know and have the right size tampons for them. :naughty:

Your sinks drain into the South Bay...

Don't know what year your boat is or if all Catalina 30's are the same.

Here is a picture of my engine bay. This is directly below the sink cabinet. The sink through hull is right next to the enigne's muffler and is accessable via the hatch across the ladder.

Enclosed are some pictures. They are pictures of my boat when I bought it. The gate valve is gone and the other 2 pics show the lower hatch I am taking about that gives you access to the through hull.

But butchrobbins is right, you've never looked around inside your boat?
