galley foot pump

the pump is leaking;
it's my understanding that it drains the icebox into the sink.
is it connected to a thru-hull?
(not much info in the owner's manual).
enlightenment appreciated!

yes, it drains through the sink through hull.

I took mine out a few years ago and just let the fridge drain into the bilge.

No problems so far.

The cheapest option is to let it drain into the bilge. The pump is actually pricey for what it is too.

I considered keeping the pump out and letting the icebox drain into the bilge. Then installing a raw water washdown that uses the through hull that the pump was using (sink).
