Galley Foot Pump is Leaking.

So, apparently my galley foot pump has a leak. I think for every
step, I pump just as much into the bilge as I do into the sink. On
the plus side, I'm excited that the full bilge is as a result of water
that I had already brought aboard the boat, rather than water making
its own way in :) and since I've put two half-tanks (based on my above
half-sink-half-bilge assumption) of fresh, clean water into the bilge,
it is by rights nice and clean now. :)

The pump says Whale Gusher 3; are there still rebuild kits around for
these, and if so, is it something that West Marine might carry?

Thanks!

Jonathan,

Yes there are. I just went through the same thing last year. West
marine can probably order it for you. The local chandler got it in
for me. It's quite a collection of o-rings and seals. Get the vender
to give you a copy of the blow-up drawing from their parts catalogue.
The most fun part of the whole experience was getting the old pump out
and reinstalling it.
