My faucet stopped pulling water from the jug under the sink. I'm pretty sure that the rubber piston ring is worn out. The faucet is made by Free-flow Products. Is this unit standard on the 26S? Mine is a 1992 model. Does anyone know where to find parts for it? I am having trouble locating it. I don't really want to replace the whole thing if I don't have to, it would probably mean drilling more holes. Thanks.

Had the same problem with a Whale pump. Took it apart and lubed the plunger seal with a little cooking oil and it works again.

Mine is a glass ball about marble size. The plunger ring doesn't seem to have much resistance as it slides up and down so i don't think it has a good seal around the cylinder anymore. I cant seem to find the maker or the model. BWY's catalog still doesn't look functional either

I just replaced mine with an electric Jabsco pump and faucet. I couldn't believe how much they wanted for a manual pump. Keeps the wife happy.

I rebuilt mine (Mac26s 1991) The hardest thing was pulling it apart. Had to force it apart "gently." It has interlocking plastic piece. I just had to replace an o-ring.

i just installed the same setup on mine a couple weeks ago. a little bit of running water makes clean up, filling water bottles and washing hands so much easier! i think it was around $65 from boatersplus. and i found all adapters and tubing at home depot to screw it straight onto the cap of a 7 gal blue reliance brand water jug

I overhauled mine about 2 1/2 years ago. To quote my notes:

"Replaced O-ring on handle shaft - old O-ring was 9.5mm ID x 13mm OD and I replaced it with 8.0mm ID x 12mm OD (from one-way valve in female garden-hose end). In other words the replacement O-ring was 2mm thick v's old O-ring at 1.75mm thick."

When you open the body you can see the handle end as in the first photo below.

I cut out a hole in a timber plank (see second photo) to bolt the body onto and held that plank in a vice. I then just used a screwdriver to help push the handle end (arrowed in first photo) through the plastic holder whilst easing the spindle out with the handle ie. pushed on the screwdriver gently whilst wiggling the handle to ease the shaft out. In this second photo you can see the handle spindle end has just been gently pushed through its support bracket but is still sitting inside the tap body before the spindle is totally extracted.

Having the tap body held in that frame made the job very easy and it only took a couple of minutes to cut the hole out and bolt the tap onto it.

I just used tap o-ring grease from the plumming shop to recoat the o-rings before re-assembling.

My tap had the following markings:
"Free-Flow Products" RV&Z240.3.2 (on handle)
T-1353 18-860 (on tap base)

There is still a company named Free-Flow Products but they seem to only make spas these days:

From what I have picked up on the web I suspect the original owners son may now be running this company:

That's my model. Did you do anything to the rubber 'seal' on the plunger?
No Justin, I just lubricated the plunger o-ring with tap grease. Not sure which brand, but either:
Hydroseal Tap Lubricant http://www.relianceworldwide.com.au/about.html or
Vinoleo WT90 http://www.macdermid-eu.net/jointingcompounds.htm
I am sure any tap grease from a plumbing supply place would do the trick.

As I said I replaced the O-rings on the handle spindle with ones as close as I could find and everything works fine now - it was previously leaking a bit around the handle. They are not a very high volume pump but we seem to get by with it.

Sometimes they need a bit of priming by having the water source above the level of the tap, but once they get going they are fine. I think you would only have to prime it if it had not been used for a long time. I work from 3 x 10l plastic jerry cans under the front bunk and when I change the suction pipe over I just make sure I don't loose too much water from the line.
