John, I think you're missing the point of having charts. You're spending $100 to protect your larger investment, namely your boat, your life, and your family's life (not necessarily in that order).You can buy charts from several sources, including the Canadian Hydrographic Services (gov't organization). Charts typically cost $20.00.
