Fwd mast groove on 336

This may be a dumb question, but what is the mast groove that is on the forward side of Hunter 336 mast for?

I want to add a sliding attachment for a wisker pole Can this be used? It does not seem to have any entry point to the groove.

This is selden mast I believe.

Other ways to add sliding pole attachement on 336 ?

Yep that is what it is for. The track for a whisker pole will fit right in it. We installed one several years ago right in that groove.

Thanks. How did you get into the track? From the top of the mast? iI don't have an entry point to the track.

Do you happen to know what ring attachment you used that fits in the track. I do not see on from Selden - the mast supplier

Hey sorry Curt.. havent been on in a bit. You get the track and it sits in the groove. You dont have to slide it in. It is standard jib track. Just take a measure. I dont use a fixed ring, but a car because I have a whisker pole. If you want a ring thats no problem either. It can slide on the track.
