Fwd Hatch on 1979 O'Day 28

Hi:
I would like to upgrade my forward hatch with a new(er) one, preferably clear. Can someone point me to a source for these? It's not a flat hatch' it bends downward much as your hand, Palm down, might as you gently curve your fingers downward.

Well, as I see it, that is a custom hatch designed to fit into the contours of the house. That's part of the original deck layout and molding. Ain't much stock gonna fit it. So, that's a problem...

He is right. O'Day went to Bomar hatches for the later models and for that they had to change the molds so you would have to serious fiberglass rework to get the newer hatch cover to fit. I have seen tinted "skylight-like material" molded into these hatches (like a patch) but you will want to talk to a pro to do that. Probably not a cheap mod either.

I would be cautious about changing the original design. It has the potential to look out of place and lowering resale. Of course, your boat your choice.
