FW: [AlbinVega] Quicky Mast Lower Gear

Hi Chris, looks like you raided the local DIY for their supply of 2x4's...
:)
Here are some comments:

1) take care that the A-frame doesn't collapse by "bending outwards" can I
suggest rigging a pulley halfway the A.. In other words making the little
horizontal bar in the A

2) I like the big wooden block at the bottom of the mast, but can I also
suggest a plate of scrap timber to the cabin front/top edge, should you
loose control a little bit. Furthermore, by the looks of the photo's you
have the mast version with the sliding boom hinge. Take good care that the
remains of the hinge are shifted to the upper position in it's track and
keep it there with a piece of bungee or tape.

All in all it seems like a pretty solid construction and we're still talking
about a 27" and not an Admirals Cupper or alike, when you do everything
slow&relaxed and use a bit of "forward thinking" you should be all right.
Success! Remember that with the mast down you'll have great opportunity to
inspect the top connection of the shrouds, your antenna etc. use this
opportunity!
Good luck,
Hielke
