One of the screws in my electrical panel will now not tighten. What would be best thing to use that would allow me: Quicker access to the panel Prevent me from having to move up screw sizes every time the hole is stripped :) Thanks, Darren

Some ideas

If you want to have a screw setup that won't strip out, you could use "T-nuts". T-nuts work with bolts and will keep the wood from getting striped out. If you are going to be opening the panel frequently, I would look into some sort of latch from a hardware store. If the panel rattles with the latch, you can buy a sheet of sticky back foam for $1.50 at Wal-Mart and cut strips to pad the contact area.

How thick is the wood that you need to screw into?

Ours is half inch. Good luck on finding a SS tee nut. Another option is to drill a quarter inch hole and glue in a quarter inch piece of dowel. This will give you a new screw bed. Another option is to drill a shallow hole big enough to press fit a SS nut flush with the back side. Epoxy it inplace. Works just as well as a tee nut. Terry

I got tired of stripped holes

Check out my web site. There is a before and after shot on the opening film strip of our electrical panel. I did it this way because of the frustration of the early Hunter electrical panels.
