A year or two ago when I tried to start the engine on my O'Day 34, nothing happened when I pressed the starter button. I discovered that there was a badly corroded and failed fuse between the starter button and the solenoid on the starter motor. Being well versed in auto mechanics a long time ago, I never dreamed that such a fuse existed. Luckily I was at the mooring can when the engine failed to start (though I've sailed to the can for other problems in the past). In any event, I recommend that O'Day owners check for such a fuse and replace itwhen it appears corroded.I would appreciate any other preventative maintenance ideas from other ODay 34 owners. Thanks.
