Furling problem

When I roll out my sail the hole drum tries to spin causing the line to wrap around the base. What holds the drum while the sail is turning? Rick.

Should be a retainer

There should be a retaining wire, shackle or snap hook that attaches the lower (underside) collar of the drum base to the base of the forward stay to keep the drum from spinning when in use.

What size sail do you prefer? (I'm just fitting my '79 with a furling system.)
