Furling Jib
I acquired a 26S this past spring and it only came with a 150 jenny which greatly overpowered the boat in spring winds.I acquired a 26X furling from a local MAC dealer who installed it for me. The furling costs $495 plus I had to have the jenny cut, remove the hang-ons, applied the non-fading edging and a window for another $350, totally about $900 by the time I was through. The dealer did not charge me to install but he made his money on selling me the furler. It was worth every penny!!!! I am certain you could find the furler and install it your self for less but I did not have the time to work with it and I wanted it done do that I could spend my time sailing. If you de-step the mast and trailer the boat frequently, it is more effort but still well worth it. When trailering, I use a 4 foot 1 X 6 board placed on the pulpit to support the furling head so that it does not swing. I can still step the mast by myself without any steping device but it is a chore. Many claim it does not point as well with a furler but that is nothing in comparison to the ability to furl in or out for the appropriate amount of sail. That be NICE!If you spend some time and install it yourself, you may be able to find something in the $500/$600 range. I would not anticipate finding a used one because I do not think anyone would just quit using it.Good Luck
