I have a Furlex Type A vintage 1997. The lower luff extrusion connecting spring is broken. It's the the one that connects the lowest luff extrusion to the lower bearing assembly. The furling works fine but sometimes the luff extrusion rides up about four inches, thus coming out of the plastic housing on the bearing assembly and I keep going to the bow and sliding it back down. I think I can find the spring on the internet, but my question is if I can install it without removing the entire forestay. The spring (just a wire about four inches long with the ends bend) is held in place with the joint sleeve, and I don't see how I can slide the joint sleeve out enough to get the spring in. Any help/ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.
