I recently replaced my furler line with 3/8 Sta Set partially to improve how well it would unfurl. I was having problems with the last couple of turns not happening. The line would begin to rub as the spool got full. I had already removed any extra turns of the line. The first couple of times with the new line, the furler worked great. But now that the line has been out in the weather, etc., it is worse than before. I have to go forward and man handle the last 4 or 5 turns. I want to get new line and drop down to 5/16 but want to be sure and get the correct line. I thought Sta Set may be a little stiff and maybe should be using regular double braid.
Have a 2000 310 with the factory Furlex furler. Don’t have the manual so not sure what is recommend from the manufacturer. What would be the correct line and size to get? Would 1/4 be sufficient? I only want to do this one more time and not waste anymore line and time..
