Every year I try to clean the furler grease from inside the three couplings, without taking the thing off. Every summer I still get black greasy marks on the jib. Anyone cracked this case? Merry Christmas.
Your post has 37 views now and no one has answered. I think we're stuck. Grease shouldn't be there. No one seems to have dealt with it. Do you have any idea how it got there?
I had an old CDI Reefer II that required periodic grease to be applied inside the plastic drum. My solution to fix the problem was to install a Profurl and sell the CDI on ebay for way more than it was worth ($500+).
try some silicone spray instead of grease. available in hardware store all over for less then $5. spray on and forget it althought you may need to do it more then once a season.
