I'm thinking about trying to organize a trailer sailor Rendevouz on Corpus Christi Bay on the Gulf. On day one we could sail to Shamrock Cove on the far side of about a 15 mile bay from either the City Marina or a closer boat Launch on the intercoastal. There is a semi protected cove. Have a little day party and maybe a race around the island on Day 2. Have a Cookout for dinner and when the moon rose, sail down wind to the City on the "Silver Highway". Anchor in the Marina. We can have a water taxi for those who anchor in the harbor. We'll arrange transport back to the boat launch for those who need it. Just a thought. Its a good Oct-Dec or Mar-June idea Depending on full moon days. We do have some good restaurants in & by the Marina. Its big water for you lake sailors, but not treacherous. A good chance to air out your GPS and outboard as well as a spinnaker.
