same problem here
I am prone to skin cancer and am advised to stay out of the sun. I was very lucky that the 37.5 I bought came with a full camper enclosure. Although I'd like an opening between the dodger and bimini sometimes to see the sails, etc., the fixed "roof" basically forces me to stay in the shade - a good thing. The dodger/bimini is one full piece to the stern. It has plastic glass windows that zip in, bug screens that zip in, and sun shades that zip on and tie out to the lifelines. There are also two "windows" in the top with canvas flaps. I call them my sunroof. It's great. Go for it unless there are barriers with your model boat. I realize that's why you posted here. Not sure what Steve means about it being hot. The shade keeps it cool. Mine is dark blue which does seem to soak in the sun when it's hot. The newer model Hunters have light grey. I think that or beige some boat have would relect more of the heat. The added benefit is that in the fall/winter with all the plastic glass, it's like solarium. When it's freezing outside, I can be in the cockpit in short sleeve so long as the sun in shining.
