Hello, I have a H 336 that has a full batten main sail. I was wondering if anyone has tried to adjust the stiffness of the battens by loosening / tightening the screws that cover these battens? The reason why I ask this question is because the top edge of the leech (between the first batten and the top of the mast) seems to be tilted towards leeward. I thought this might be due to stiffness in the top batten. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Full battens and sail twist

See it this helps: The sail is designed to have a twist of the leach so that you can dump air up high and control boat heel, sail power, and some other things. When you either pull down on the boom with the main sheet or boom vang the sail leach tightens up and the twist lessens. I would desigh the battens so that you could have this feature. Also if you start moving around battens watch out on the other end as the pocket is bound to be stressing out and will eventually let go. Bill Roosa
