Does anybody have a problem with fuel vapors from outboard fuel tank in transom? Is there a need to vent this area or is it already vented somehow. We have a new used 1980 23 Oday and are trying to figure this out. Thanks
The first thing I did when I got my 25 was put the fuel tank in the cockpit!! I am going to build a compartment at the back of the transom for the 3 gallon tank out of starboard. I will have it raised up to allow water to drain out of the cockpit. I will use 1/2 and 3/4 inch so I can stand on it. that space is not really used much even with 4 people. I will make it flush with the seats and it also will be vented. The compartment will have enuff room to store two 1 gallon spare gas tanks on top of the 3 gal. for extended trips.
