How is the fuel tank fastened (i.e. straps, etc.) on the 33? This was one of the survey recommendations - the fuel tank is not fastened, it is free to move vertically (apparently this is an ABYC requirement). I was at the boat today looking this over, and I couldn't see any evidence of original straps. . .

Metal tanks normally have tabs welded to the bottom. If you so not have tabs, then you can just get some hold downs and strapping

My tank was held to the plywood shelf with stainless steel strapping, much like shipping strapping material. Since that was cut to remove the tank for cleaning the first time,I use plastic strapping with a little friction "buckle" arrangement. Sold as "Strap-Pack", I got my latest box at work from McMaster. ULINE shipping supplies sells a similar product also. Kind of pricey just for a few feet of strapping. If you're stuck get in touch and we'll figure out a way to get some to you. Hunter used the same material to hold the 20 gallon water tank in my Hunter 260. I set the tank in the 33 on 1/4" plastic strips to keep the aluminum off of the damp plywood and provide air circulation space.
