Fuel Tank leak Oday 30

Anyone repaired or replaced the leaking fuel tank in an Oday 30? What did you do?

What is it made out of?

My 1988 O’Day 322 has a poly fuel tank (as well as waste and potable water). Those tanks are pretty stout.

Have you identified the leak? Corroded through somewhere? Leaky fitting?

We had a leak in the tank of our 28 which is a pretty similar boat. In our case there was a copper bonding wire running under the tank that touched it in one place, causing some dissimilar metal corrosion. We had a new tank fabricated and replaced it. To get the old tank out we had to cut the fill neck off. We had the new tank made a couple gallons less tall to be able to fit it in.
