Can any one tell me where the fuel tank vent goes to? I have a Columbia 41 Center-cockpit with a 100 gallon tank under the starboard side settee. Also, are there any access areas to view/work on the water tank vents? I tried to fill them up and it appears that they are leaking (read gushing when the tank is filled).

Thanks

Some boats were built with the water tank vents just high up in an interior locker. This keeps the bugs (except any interior ones) from crawling in, and salt water coming in through vents in a storm or heeled way over. At least that is the case with my boat of a different manufacturer.

You just need to be careful not to overfill the water tank so that it is too full and comes out the vents or comes out the vents in the normal rocking of the boat.

I can view my vents, yours however may be obstructed.
