OK, stupid question ... do you guys add fuel stabilizer to ethanol free gas during the winter layover?

The main reason I buy E-free gas is to avoid the problem. I guess adding stabilizer won't hurt but wonder if it's a solution in search of a problem.

I know ethanol exacerbates the fuel storage problem, but I think the problem exists regardless.
I use it in my Yanmar diesel system. It's cheap insurance. I also use one in my gas 5.7 Suburban because a 40 gallon tank lasts a long time with the low mileage I put on it

I keep ethanol free gasoline for about a year and I do use a stabilizer and Seafoam. I keep about10 gallons to run a generator in the event of a hurricane in summer and ice storm in winter (rare but does happen) I use that stash for lawnmower and other small engines throughout the year. No problems
Modern gasoline has a good bit of stuff from a catalytic cracker.. That stuff can have some "gum precursors" in it as a result of the molecule cracking. A good stabilizer will keep the gasoline gum free during longer storage times.

Additives are a waste of money in E-free gas.

I own two outboard motors, two lawnmowers, a generator, a pressure washer, a leaf blower, a chain saw and probably something else I can't think of. Not one of them has ever had a fuel-related problem (or any other problem, for that matter) since I switched to E-free, five years ago. I can walk out to the shed and start any one of them in two or three pulls, any time, every time.

Nothing wrong with using additives if they make you feel good, but that is the only benefit they provide in E-free gas.
