We were changing the Rancor fuel filter for the first time last weekend and could not determine where or if our 1999 Hunter 380 has a fuel shut off valve. Can anyone help me out? Thanks

It should be mounted directly on top of the fuel tank that the fuel supply line feeds from.

Follow the fuel supply line back to tank and you will find it. To get to ours we have to remove a wood panel in the stern berth. Because of that I have gotten quite adept at the quick change. Open the drain valve on the Racor and let the water/fuel spill through a hose into a container while simultaneously opening the top of the filter body to pull out the canister. Re-insert a new one close it up and shut the valve off as by then any water has been pushed out.

I have a H376 (same setup). Yes the fuel shut-off is buried under all the stuff in the starboard aft locker. And its a pain to get to. I have installed an in-line fuel shut-off valve in the engine compartment (between the fuel tank and primary filter). It makes filter changes SO much easier. Of course double clamp and buy quality valves. Happy Sailing. Bob
