Has anyone replaced the fuel shut off cable? If so how big of a pain is it to replace? I need to replace my engine panel and that has to come all the way out then go back in.
Thanks

It is actually fairly easy if you can get yourself into the port lazarete to help route the cable. I would suggest to go ahead and replace the cable since you are going to be doing the work. If I recall correctly Yanmar offers two cable sizes one for smaller boats and the other for the larger. If you can measure the old one you may assure you get the right one for your boat. Don't remember if the cable cover was included or not but also replace. As you probably know you can manually move the lever to shut the engine off so it is not a problem to remove the cable to measure it and then purchase and install at a latter time. For an easier cable replacement just leave the cable cover in place and lubricate and push the new cable through.

Thanks I will look for the routing this weekend and give it a try. I would really like to put a solenoid on the shut off and make it a push button switch. But that will be another day.
