Have the owner.......

Denise & Jim: You can either have the owner fix the fuel pump and adjust the steering or get estimates for those items and deduct it from your offering price. The steering adjustment is usually easy. On our H'31 we needed to drop the cowling and tighten the adjustment bolts on the steering quadrant (about an hour). The majority of the time was the cowling. The fuel pump my be a hose, gasket or the pump. I would factor in a new pump, gaskets, hoses, clamps and labor if you are going to deduct for the procedure. R/R a pump can be a time consuming job on some boats. I would say that the battery charger is your problem. They run anywhere from about $100-400 depending on what you want/get. I suggest a Statpower 20+. They are multi stage and will charge all of the common battery types on the market today.
