Just thought I would pass along info about a little event I experienced last weekend. Boat is an '85 O'Day 28 with Universal M-12. I got a brief power drop, then recovery, thought nothing of it and motored on for a couple hours. Two days later pulled away from a mooring, lost power, got it back and lost it again. Turns out one of the fuel pump mounting bracket screws had vibrated loose over time and of course that screw also secures the ground side of the wiring! Not somehting you would normally notice since you you cannot see that side of the pump when you clean the strainer each season!). These are really reliable engines, but they just hate it when the fuel pump starts to cut out. Maybe of benefit to someone else.
