Fuel Line Leak

I have a fuel leak. It only seems to appear when I overfill the fuel tank. Diesel appears on top of the fuel tank and also appears in the bilge below the engine. I can wipe it up and it reappears until the tank level goes down. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what possibly may be going on or what I might look for when trying to solve this issue?

Thanks,

Greg W

Vent hose and don't do that

Well the simple solution, and forgive me but I can't resist, don't overfill the fuel tank.
I suspect the vent hose or one of the hose clamps on the vent hose are causing the leak. Could also have a crack in the top of the tank.

Now if you take a lighter and check around the tank I'm sure you will find the leak or get some sort of indication of where most of the fuel is pooling.:D Yea, I'm an A$$.

Fuel Tank Leak

Bill:

Your not an ASS - Just a sailor :). I wouldn't overfill if Hunter had installed a fuel gage! I thought it might be related to the vent hose. The tank is plastic or fiberglass. I don't believe it has a crack, but I guess anything is possible.

Thanks,

Greg W.
