The fuel guage on my Hunter 310 is pegged out below the empty mark. I have tried cleaning the electrical connections but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to fix this?
Before you assume it's the guage get out the multimeter. Test the sending unit in the tank for variable resistance, (will probably need to open tank and remove) check the leads from sending unit to guage for continuity, (they must each be isolated) check guage with 12v lead and ground. The problem could be any of the three elements but is most commonly the sending unit.
