My HV'36 had a manual gauge on the tank. I could never read it. I replaced the float with and electric sender and installed a gauge. It reads about 25% lower than it actually is, but at least I have an idea of where we are before we head out on a long trip.
I also keep a manual log of each fill.
Thank you!West marine has a universal replacement of 2" I think. Mine works but reads full when powered up. They say the float sticks from the sending unit in the tank. Could ck this first before replacing the gauge. Once I troubleshoot mine, I'll post.
