Fuel filter upgrade

It looks like my '82 H30 has an old Perko brass primary filter mounted to starboard of the 2GM. Research indicates it's due for replacing.

Notes online indicate that ABYC standards require fuel filters mounted in engine compartment to withstand heat/time tests and should be metal body design.

Opinions on what would be a good to excellent choice for filter upgrade?

I would be willing to bet that the Perko unit you're referring to is merely a water seperator, not a filter at all (unless there's a cartridge inside). Any of Steve's Racor model recommendations would be a far better choice than having the Perko remain in place.

Steve, I had a look at your setup, nice idea. I'm curious about the twin sets of control valves. Either one of them could be eliminated with a T connector instead. Did you have a specific reason for using two sets of valves?
