fuel consumption for C25

I have a 1981 C25 with a swing keel and a Johnson Sailmaster 9.9 hp motor. Does anybody know what I should expect for fuel consumption when motoring at 5 - 6 knots for long periods of time?

I have a Merc 9.9 built in l985 without a thermostat (did not make one at that time) and I get about an hour and half per gallon running at five knots (about 3/4 full throttle) I also have a prop with the maximum pitch I could purchase for this motor which makes it move faster at a slower RPM. Lots of things you have to consider here. I do long trips and always carry a couple of extra gallons of fuel just to be safe. Ken Cave Dragon Tail #789
