We use the frostmate 690 on our 89 Vision 32. A few weeks ago we had to return the compressor for service, they replaced the control module (very quickly I might add) and we then reinstalled, the unit seemed to be working when we left shortly thereafter. A week later we returned to find the icebox luke warm. the compressor and fan were running.. and the copper lines were cold and frosted over from the bottom of the box to the evaporator.. but the evaporator was not cold, so we have about 12" of cold tubing and thats it. Help! any ideas? We cannot find anyone to service the unit in Pensacola on the weekends.. and we're not there during the week.

not cold

Howard, It sounds as though the compressor might be low on coolant. Often times, when you disconnect the cooling lines from the compressor you lose some refrigerant in the process. The same thing happens when you reattach the lines again--no matter how quickly you try to accomplish the task you will lose some of the coolant. I would bet that all you need is to have the compressor recharged with refrigerant. Try calling a local refrigeration guy and he should be able to fix the problem. Good Luck, PAT

Pat is 100% correct. Try George Harter @ 850-492-0350 or Dons Marine Svc. @ 850-458-6054. They have both been servicing Adler/Barbour systems for many years and are excellant to deal with.
