The large front window has developed a leak. I am preparing to remove the 10 or so screws, remove the window, clean and recaulk the window. Has anyone done this procedure before and does anyone have any tips or suggestions. I have purchased black 3M 5200 caulking.

Yes!!!! DO NOT USE IT!

Andrew:

DO NOT USE 5200 under any circumstances.

Contact Hunter. They will provide you with the proper product for this application or you can find out from them what you should use. Normally the product is DOW 795.

3M 5200 is a polyurethane adhesive. 1. It is NOT compatible with plastic/lexan/acrylic. 2. If (and you will) you ever need to remove this panel again, you will destroy it before you get the panel out in one piece. I would guess that a replacement panel will cost $400-500 plus machining.
