RE: Keel Cooler/ Thuough Hull
Below the water condensers do work when they do away with fan cooled condensers. Keel coolers and thru hull can reduce the amp hours on small 12 volt refrigeration by 3 to 6 amp-hrs a day. In tropical climates or when the compressor is located in a warm location a fan is still needed for cooling.I do not recommend either keel or through condensers on boats that have onboard generators or that spend time connected to shore power, due to electrolysis problems.
